Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business

Chase's premium business card offers multiple benefits, including useful statement credits and travel perks.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome offer: Earn 200,000 bonus points after spending $30,000 on purchases in the first six months from account opening.

Why we love it: The Sapphire Reserve for Business combines premium travel perks with strong earning potential for business owners who spend heavily in some of its bonus categories.

For TPG founder Brian Kelly, the card's earning potential on advertising purchases has been particularly valuable. "The Sapphire Reserve for Business has let me consolidate my spending and keep earning beyond those limits, which is a big deal for growing our TPG brand," he said.

The card earns 3 points per dollar spent on social media and search engine advertising purchases (capped at $1 million in spending each anniversary year beginning Nov. 15), and Brian has also gotten significant value from its travel benefits. He has used The Edit to book luxury hotel stays with on-property perks such as daily breakfast for two and property credits, while also taking advantage of Chase's Points Boost for select hotel and airfare redemptions.

American Express Platinum Card

The Amex Platinum is one of our favorite luxury travel cards thanks to its long list of useful benefits, including airport lounge access and valuable statement credits.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome offer: Find out your offer and see if you're eligible for as high as 175,000 bonus points after spending $12,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. (Welcome offers vary, and you may not be eligible for an offer.)

Why we love it: TPG credit cards editor Olivia Mittak finds solid value in the Amex Platinum's benefits. Specifically, Olivia enjoys receiving the up to $155 Walmart+ statement credit per calendar year (up to $12.95 monthly, plus applicable taxes) that covers the cost of a monthly membership when paying with the Amex Platinum (on one membership, subject to auto-renewal; Plus Ups excluded).

Walmart+ includes a complimentary Paramount+ subscription (separate enrollment is required), which allows her to avoid paying out of pocket for the streaming service.

She also uses the card's up to $300 Lululemon statement credit per calendar year at U.S. stores (excluding outlets) and online (allocated as up to $75 per quarter) and up to $400 Resy statement credit per calendar year (distributed as up to $100 per quarter; simply pay with your Amex Platinum at an eligible U.S. Resy restaurant; no reservation is required).

Enrollment is required.

Welcome offer: Earn 200,000 bonus miles after spending $20,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. Offer ends Nov. 4.

Why we love it: The card offers valuable benefits for frequent Delta flyers, including Delta Sky Club access (subject to eligibility and annual visit limits), an annual companion certificate and opportunities to earn Medallion Qualification Dollars toward elite status.

Cardmembers can also receive several statement credits that can help offset the card's $650 annual fee.

TPG's editor-in-chief, Nick Ewen, particularly values the card's elite status and lounge benefits. "The additional MQD boost plus more Sky Club visits (on top of my personal card) ensure I have plenty of room to enjoy my regular flights with Delta."

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome offer: For a limited time, earn 125,000 bonus miles after spending $15,000 on purchases in the first five months from account opening.

Why we love it: In addition to Admirals Club access, the card offers several perks that can make traveling with American Airlines more rewarding.

For TPG managing editor of credit cards Giselle Gomez, Admirals Club access is the biggest draw. "The main reason I have the card is the Admirals Club access," she said. "I'm based out of an American Airlines hub and fly AA pretty regularly, so I can get a lot of use out of the lounges when traveling with my family thanks to the generous guest policy."

Following a recent refresh, cardmembers can receive up to $500 annually toward American Airlines Vacations, up to $100 annually toward eligible inflight and Admirals Club purchases, automatic Omni Hotels & Resorts Champion status (enrollment required) and Avis President's Club status (enrollment available through Aug. 31, 2028).

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card

The Capital One Venture Rewards is a straightforward travel rewards card that earns at least 2 miles per dollar on every purchase and gives cardholders access to Capital One's airline and hotel transfer partners.

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
THE POINTS GUY

Welcome offer: Earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Plus, receive a $300 credit to use on hotel and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel in the first cardholder year upon account opening.

Why we love it: The Venture Rewards offers a simple earning structure and flexible redemption options for a reasonable $95 annual fee.

Cardholders earn at least 2 miles per dollar spent on purchases, so there's no need to keep track of bonus categories. For potentially greater value, you can transfer your miles to Capital One's airline and hotel partners.

TPG points and loyalty lead writer Katie Genter has held the Venture Rewards for years and values it for many of the same reasons. "I like the Venture's straightforward earning structure, and the fact that it earns versatile yet valuable Capital One miles," she said.

The current offer is particularly appealing because the $300 Capital One Travel statement credit comes on top of the 75,000-mile bonus, making an already strong offer even more rewarding in the first year.

IHG One Rewards Premier Select

The IHG One Rewards Premier Select is a premium hotel card for frequent IHG guests who want to earn IHG points and receive valuable benefits when staying at IHG properties.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome offer: Earn 200,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.

Why we love it: The card offers several benefits for IHG loyalists, including a fourth night free on eligible award stays, an anniversary free night and automatic Platinum Elite status. Cardholders can also earn bonus points on IHG stays and receive additional IHG-related perks that can help offset the card's annual fee.

TPG senior editor for loyalty programs, Christine Gallipeau, is interested in opening IHG's new card. She said, "I regularly stay at IHG hotels both close to my home near Washington, D.C., during staycations with my dog, Bailey, and while traveling solo, so I'd have a relatively easy time maximizing the new IHG Premier Select's benefits, particularly its annual free night certificate and confirmable suite upgrade Milestone Reward (via the 20 elite night credits received each year). As a United MileagePlus member with Premier Gold status, the up to $50 in annual United TravelBank cash is also a perk I could use with little effort."

Air France KLM Visa Signature

The Air France KLM Visa Signature is a solid option for travelers who regularly fly with Air France or KLM and want to earn Flying Blue miles while working toward elite status.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome offer: Earn 70,000 bonus miles and 100 Experience Points (XP) after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days from account opening.

Why we love it: The card offers a combination of Flying Blue miles and travel benefits that can be useful for frequent Air France and KLM flyers. Cardmembers can also earn XP toward Flying Blue elite status, making the card particularly useful for travelers who want to make progress toward elite benefits while earning miles on everyday purchases.

Flying Blue miles can also be useful beyond flights on Air France and KLM. TPG credit cards writer Stephanie Stevens recently redeemed just 7,000 Flying Blue miles for a Scandinavian Airlines flight from Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) — a good example of the flexibility Flying Blue miles can offer when booking partner flights.

Hilton Honors cards

Hilton travelers currently have two enticing welcome offers to consider on the Hilton Aspire and Hilton Surpass.

The Valorian Los Angeles Curio Collection by Hilton. HILTON

Welcome offers:

  • Hilton Honors Surpass: Earn 130,000 bonus points and a free night reward after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership.
  • Hilton Honors Aspire: Earn 200,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership.

Why we love them: The Aspire is the premium option, offering automatic Hilton Honors Diamond status and an array of Hilton statement credits and travel perks.

The Surpass offers automatic Hilton Honors Gold status and useful Hilton credits with a much lower annual fee, making it a strong choice for more occasional Hilton guests.

Stephanie recently added the Surpass to her wallet after comparing several hotel cards.

"I ultimately chose the Surpass because its benefits felt easy to use without changing my travel habits. Hilton Gold status gives me useful perks when I stay with Hilton, and the quarterly Hilton credits give me a straightforward way to offset the card's annual fee."
